8. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
2 Corinthians 9:6-15
There is a peculiar grace that is attached to giving that many are yet to discover, particularly when the giving is directed at the expansion of the Kingdom. God is the one who gives the best. He gave His only begotten son, out of love for us, that we may be saved. There is nothing we have that we have not received from Him. He gives bread to the eater and seed to the sower. The seed however need be sown. It is to be sown to further the purpose of the Kingdom, by ensuring meat in the house of the Lord for the purpose of His ministers who have no vocation but to minister unto Him; and to cater for the needy in society, particularly those of the household of faith. When we sow the seed thus, the minister so catered for, prays for us; the needy so cared for is joyful to the extent that the heavens respond in joy also. Such activities make God the best giver to bestow more unto the giver to the extent that he is sufficient in all things so that he may be able to abound the more in every good work, particularly in sowing his seed on good soil the more. Once, the writer put smiles on the faces of little children of certain untended extraction. The joy that came out of the said children when they saw how much they got, made a lasting impression both in heaven and in the author’s finances subsequently.
There is no giving that is a waste. God will owe no one. When we sow our seed, we lend to God and He responds by bombarding us somewhat. Please don’t let the enemy deceive you. We have read somewhere some supposed Gospel minister saying tithing is not biblical and that he made a mistake when he preached it hitherto. Please conclude that the said preacher is in his habit of making mistakes by saying tithing is wrong. He may return tomorrow to say something else as it means he was never led of the Spirit in his expositions. Please be guided that whatever you do that dovetails in love is of God. Taking care of the needy minister or members of society is done in love. Tithing is part of it. Please don’t stop giving. God delights in it and gives you much more to make you all sufficient in all things.
SOLUTION: Giving brings about getting. Don’t ever stop giving particularly to the ministers of God. How do you know if they are of God? By their fruits you know them. If you are not able to decipher, give as unto the Lord and let the Lord be the determiner of the righteous.
The Lord will honor all your gifts, offerings and sacrifices in the name of Jesus. The One to whom you have been giving will not let your giving come to vanity in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord will make you sufficient in all things that you may do more good works in the name of the Lord in Jesus’ name.
