Memorize: Prov. 22: 29
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
Read: 1 Sam. 17:12-36.
Success is sweet, but it comes always with a price. God has no joy in the indolent. For everyone that God will use for His purpose which is the essence of our being anyway, such a person must be diligent in whatever he does. Before God took Saul Kish to be king over His people, He ensured Saul was a diligent laborer who will not allow a waste. The same goes for Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Elisha, Gideon, even those of the New Testament. David was a candid example. God found in David a man after His own heart. He did not run from his duty post even at the risk of his life. God found a shepherd in David who will care for the Lord’s flock as he did his father’s and caused him to behead Goliath who wanted to take the kingdom away from David’s reach.
God is interested in your success. He is waiting for you to show forth diligence in your business so as to back you up and make you stand before kings and not mean men. Are you ready for God?
Action Point:
Put away every distraction and focus on the goal you have set for yourself to achieve. Pursue it vigorously until it is attained. Make sure it is God-centered. Pray for God’s assistance all the way.
