Be Established In Righteousness

Focus: Isaiah 54:14 - KJV

14. In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

Proverbs 4:10-19

Righteousness is key to living a good life. Those who are righteous have the confidence that their God, who is mightier than the mightiest, be near them and therefore they need not fear anything whatsoever. They are never oppressed or terrified by any material occurrence. They are schooled in the lesson of the Lord and obey His instruction all the time. Those who fail to do so are never stable in anything. They pretend to be living well whereas their lives are just a mess. They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. That, because they fail to live by the instruction of God. Did you see Saul in the battle of the philistines where Goliath oppressed him and drove fear into his spine? Because he could not be tamed by godly instruction, he lived in fear and oppression despite being king. But look at David, a man after God’s heart with unflinching confidence in the sagacity of his God. He confronted the source of fear and the same was uprooted in his sight without much effort. Or have you forgotten so soon about king Jehoshaphat? When he took to instruction from the Lord, he needed not lift a sword to demolish the terror that faced him. How about Joshua? How easy was it for him to just comply with instruction to march round a wall of fortification and have it demolished thereby? Even though the instruction of the Lord appears unfathomable, ours is to obey. It is then that we are established in righteousness and can be like the tree planted by the river; and our paths be like the shining light. Those who turn their backs on God’s instruction have themselves to blame for the oppression they face in the hands of those who should fear them. Such a pity that is.

Beloved, the instructions of God are not too difficult to obey. They may appear to you unreasonable but in the end, they are the best for your situation. It is only if we be willing and obedient that we start to see the manifestation of the goodness wrapped up in the instruction. For instance, this very day, every wall of partition between you and your destiny shall fall as you obey God. Even that Goliath that has been roaring with intimidation over your life shall lose his head today in Jesus’ name. All you need is obedience which culminates into righteousness. Your life will show true meaning when you obey God’s instruction.

SOLUTION: No one knows the earth and the world better than the Creator. And since there is no evil in Him, His instructions are just and loving. Obey Him, no matter what.

Father, we know that without you, we can do nothing. Even for us to yield ourselves in obedience unto you, it is only by your grace. We therefore pray today for the grace to obey your instruction always: do grant us the same in the name of Jesus. By the reason of this heart, from this day, please bring down every wall of offence preventing us from entering into your promise for our lives in Jesus’ name. Every agent of darkness standing between us and fulfilment of your purpose for our lives, please dethrone today in Jesus’ name.
