Be Wise: Do What God Says

Focus: Matthew 7:24 - KJV

24. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Luke 6:46-49

Anyone who must truly succeed need to depend on the word of God which serves as the light to guide him in the darkness of the world. A refusal to do so is a submission to failure, death and utter destruction. Looking at Moses’ achievements, Joshua became scared to take over the leadership of Israel, but got encouraged by the Lord who told him he would find good success in his ways if he would meditate on, and do the words of God. Adam had good success for as long as he remained in and did the command of God. The moment he decided to act otherwise, he bit a poisonous fruit and had his success undone. Noah would have completely drowned in the flood that wiped out his generation if he had not obeyed the full instruction of the Lord. Imagine him making errors in the dimensions the Lord gave him for the ark? Water would have ended up sipping into the ark and would have sunk it. He succeeded by sticking with what he received from God even though he never experienced or heard of any flooding, prior to the instruction of God.

Only the wise would obey the voice of God to do that which He directs. He knows better than anyone in any subject that pertains to existence. If we do the things human physicians with limited knowledge tell us to do and turn against the instruction of the Great Physician, then we have ourselves to blame for the outcomes of our actions. We are wise when we build on the words of God to act on it. The success is primarily ours to enjoy; and when we refuse, the failure brings shame to us and not to God. It is truly abnormal for us to call God our Lord and refuse to obey Him, to do what He tells us to do. Aside its being insulting, it is also unfortunate that we allow the Lord watch us obey lies and leave His truth unattended. It is indeed a shame, when we think it through.

Beloved, be wise. The word of God comes to us for a purpose: that we may act on it for our profiting. If we fail to do so, we cannot blame God for the repercussion. The reason the devil appears to be gaining upper hand in most of our affairs is because we have not been obeying the word of God to do it, and do it in the precise prescription of the Lord. The sooner we start to obey God as our Lord, the better for us, as only then are we adjudged wise, with great benefits for our wisdom.

SOLUTION: Hearken always to the voice of God and do what He says. Nothing can bring better success than that.

Please pray: Father, please grant me the grace to always do whatsoever you say and nothing else, in all my life, in Jesus’ name. As I begin to do your will O Lord, please let the good success in the obedience begin to show for your name to be thereby glorified, in Jesus’ name.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
