Christ Our Completion

Key verse: Colossians 2:9-10

9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Colossians 2:8-15

In Christ, we are complete. He represents the entire Godhead. This means, when a man has Christ in Him, he carries the Godhead fully in himself. That has great implication. The ones responsible for the ills of life are called principalities and powers. This Christ is said to be their head. We must know that all subordinates bow to the leader for as long as he remains leader. Therefore, for those who have Christ in them, all principalities and powers must bow to their head and therefore because He is in them, these ones also bow to them. Please note that, anyone who carries Christ in him has a hope and a future that none can scuttle since he becomes a no-go area for all principalities and powers. Furthermore, having Christ in one guarantees answers to prayers. This because it is in Christ that the Godhead is. The Father and the Holy Spirit are combined in Him to ensure answers and delivery of desired blessing.

To have Christ in us is to be circumcised from sin and be baptized into His death and resurrection so that the life that we live going forward is one that can retain Christ and not one He cannot cope with. Once circumcised from sin, we are not expected to live our lives again thereby, and so, anyone who lives by sin does not want Christ retained in himself. Meanwhile, that has its consequences. It means the principalities and powers that control the space where the same operates are at liberty to deal with the person at will. Recall the story of the demoniac that Christ healed. A demoniac by the way is someone possessed by principalities and powers. After his healing, Christ cautioned that he sinned no more so that the spirit sent out of him will not return and find an empty abode in him. If it does, it was likely to go and fetch seven more powerful ones with himself to take residence therein, in which case the ending will be worse for the person.

Beloved, there is no vacuum in the spirit. Anyone who fails to carry Christ on the inside creates room in himself for principalities and powers to possess. The result of that is not fanciful. If, however, we allow Christ to be resident in us by abstaining from sin, then are we assured of the hope of glory. Give Christ space in you.

Pray: Father, I release my totality to you: please take me over completely and be resident in me. Help to keep me safe from all principalities powers in Jesus name.
