Focus: 2 Peter 3:13-14 - KJV
13. Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
2 Peter 3:10-18
The coming of the Lord is at hand. He said to us that it will be like the coming of a thief in the night without any further announcement just like it happened in the days of Noah. We seek to be part of the new heavens and new earth where there will no longer be darkness or corruption of any kind. But it is not enough for us to have this knowledge, we must imbibe wisdom so as to put this our knowledge to good and profitable use. Such use assures our being found in the new clime, when the Lord appears. But how? Since there is no corruption there, no corruption will be allowed to be imported into it. It follows therefore that anyone who is found incompatible with the new clime will not be allowed in, to forestall pollution. To make it, man is to be born of the Spirit so as to bear the fruit of the Spirit always. Aside that, his life must be ordered by the Spirit that he becomes the son of God in the similitude of Christ. This presupposes living a life free of blame from the Lord. Did someone say it is impossible? Well, God is not a taskmaster: if it was impossible, He wouldn’t saddle us with it. Problem is we are wont to listen to the voice of the enemy and obey him rather than obeying God. That leads to spots and wrinkles which are unacceptable.
Beloved, the beauty and bliss that awaits you when you meet with Christ is not one that anyone can describe. But for you to make it, you must be diligent in your walk through the path the Lord has shown you. The journey to the top is a worthy pursuit. It is foolhardy for us to have come thus far and drop off on the way. One of the boobies to avoid is the teaching of liars who are clearly agents of darkness bringing our ways such lessons which are at variance with the teachings of Christ. The way is Christ and none other.
SOLUTION: Keep focus on Christ. Don’t deviate by following any other actor even if found in scripture. Our prescription is Christ. No other is fit to lead us to the desired goal but Him. Don’t imbibe poison through sweet but wicked teachings.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, God will bring you to the new heavens and new earth in the end and you will never miss out. The One who prayed for Peter that he succeeded will pray for you and you will also succeed in Jesus’ name. God will make you His choice pilgrim to the glory of His name in Jesus’ name.
