Focus: Jeremiah 15:16 - KJV
16. Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
Ezekiel 3:1-3
The Lord Jesus Christ had said anyone who takes the water that He gives, out of the same’s belly shall flow rivers of living waters. Most of the people God sends to the world are first equipped with the word of life. They are made to eat it in the form of a book, roll, scroll or even water. Those that are so filled do not miss the truth of the word. Hence, no one is able to lie to them pertaining to the word of God for the word inside them rejects a lie anytime it is spoken in their faces. There are others who ingest the word by meditating on it day and night. The difference is that while the former are compelled to eat in the Spirit, the latter are people who ingest by their zeal, leaning on the help of the Spirit. Jeremiah ate the word; so did Ezekiel and John the beloved. The result is prophecies based on godly insight, to frame the world.
Those who ingest the word do not easily fall prey to the deceiver. The difference between king Saul and David basically is in the word. By reason of the word of God, which David relied and leaned on, it was not difficult for him to be convicted and find godly sorrow in the matter of Urriah. On the other side, when Saul was confronted with his misdeed, even though he said he was sorry, it was clear that he did not understand the enormity of his deeds as all he sought was recognition before the people and not necessarily by God. So, it will be right to say the word of God that resided in David guided his thoughts and actions. It is possible to err while carrying the word in us, if we fail to give our hearts to it per time. However, because it is innate, it always wells up like a spring to make things abundantly clear to us, as the Lord will want it.
We also can carry in us the word of God if we so desire. When we study and meditate on the word of God regularly, it starts to form a part of us. When it is fully developed, it stays in us with clear retention, not to depart again. If we do have the word, it guides our thoughts and actions in all the ramification of life to the extent that whenever we are being lured by the enemy to do things contrary to the word, the one inside makes the position clear to us. This in turn prepares us for the abundant blessings in obedience even as it gives us so much potency against negative forces. For the word of God in us is equally the sword of the Spirit with which we dispel negative forces. Those that carry the word in them, are fortified by God in that the investment in them must not be allowed to perish.
SOLUTION: As a matter of urgency, dedicate some time in your day to studying and meditating on the word of God that you study. When God sees your hunger and thirst for the word, He will practically give you the water of life to ingest, which in turn becomes a well of living water in you.
Please pray: Father, do let your word dwell in me in a greater dimension from today, in Jesus’ name. Give me the fortitude to ingest your word from time to time that I may be directed thereby for the rest of my life in Jesus’ name. Help me by your word so that I may be pleasing to you to the very end, in Jesus’ name.
If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
