Text: Joshua 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Read: Colossians 2:6-15
Christ is the Head of all principalities and powers. There is none above Him. Therefore, no power ought to cause any believer in Christ to fear.
Fear is a torment. Fear is an acceptance of hopelessness in a situation. It is submitting to the superiority of the aggressing principality or power, instead of that of Christ. Whenever you succumb to fear, you take God out of the equation. Even when there was still handwriting of ordinances against man, God admonished Joshua not to fear and he was able to cross Jordan on dry ground and pull down a big obstructing wall without a physical bulldozer. This he could do because God was with him.
Today, the handwriting of ordinances against man because of sin has been blotted out by the sacrifice of Christ; hence, there is no basis for fear for anyone who is in Christ Jesus who now lives according to the purpose of God. The position now is that God is constantly with those that are His. And if God be for us, who can be against us?
So, anytime the enemy comes rushing against you like a flood, if only you can realize that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the flood (world), then will the Holy Spirit raise a standard against him.
God does not change. He is the all-powerful one. He is with you and therefore He is your Ally in battle. Fear not and He will come through for you even more than He did for the people of old. He is Emmanuel: God with us. Believe in Him.
Pray:
Lord I know you are available with me at all time, please disperse every arsenal raging against my well-being now; and prevent the enemy from gathering any other against me in the future in Jesus name. Anytime the enemy comes, please put the enemy to shame for my sake in Jesus name. Thank you Father.
