How strong is your faith?

Memorize: Ephesians 6:16

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Read: 1 Samuel 17:40-51

At the time David went into battle with Goliath, it will appear that the most potent weapons of offense in battle were the spear and the sword. The spear for a long reach and the sword for a close-range assault. But slings and stones were used for dogs. There were no guns and apparently, no bows and arrows. The weapon the Philistine saw was the sling and stones. David however declared to him that he had the most potent weapon in warfare, yet Goliath did not understand. The most potent weapon of defense at the time was the shield, which the Philistine carried through an armor bearer. David’s shield was in his faith in the name of the Lord.

Beloved, it is important you make your faith strong in the one whom you believe. The Lord is ready to carry you to the extent of the prosperity of your soul. Your soul prospers in the word and person of God to the extent that you know Him. What you know of Him is what you take to heart. God can take you out of every uncanny situation and give you victory over the worst of circumstances if only your faith can carry you. The faith man is a victorious warrior. Goliath believed so much in his personal prowess. It is not deniable that he possessed it all. But David had faith in his God. He possessed better prowess and prevailed in the end. Do not fear the boisterous and mean stature of the opponent; rather focus on the almightiness of God.

So much is lost in the place of fear. God’s counsel to you therefore is fear not. When you fear, you profess that the opponent is greater than your God, which of course is not true. Wait a minute: it does not matter if the opponent appears to call the same God as you. What matters is who is doing the will of God amongst you? The will of God is love. If you operate in love, no matter the title or carriage of your opponent, believe God for your deliverance and victory; and you will sure have it. God is just.

Pray: Father, I know you are a just God and you defend your own. I come to you this day concerning the battles of my life: I rely absolutely on you for victory and victory I have because I have you as my strong tower in Jesus name. Thank you Father.
