Focus: Hebrews 2:18 - KJV
18. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
Hebrews 2:11-18
The pain of temptation is almost unbearable while it lasts. It has caused many to lose hope and give in to the tempter. The work of the tempter will be to tempt till he is fully sent to the bottomless pit. His temptations are majorly prepared for those who are on the side of God or aspiring to be. He who is down needs fear no fall. Anyone who is already sold out to evil is not tempted of it but instructed by his master. However, temptation is aimed at pulling down someone who is elevated or climbing to an elevated level. Nonetheless, we have a great friend and Savior in Jesus Christ in that, there is no manner of temptation or hardship the enemy can bring our way that He has not experienced. Because He Himself had suffered being tempted, He can relate with us when we go through the pain of temptation. That is why He comes to our succor when the pain sets in having been there before. When Stephen was being stoned to death, the Holy One of Israel rose to comfort him and reassure him that he was not abandoned. The embrace of Christ was for him more important than living on in the world and therefore he committed his Spirit into the hands of Christ. Paul had been left for dead once but was revived by the master from the tragedy he went through. He is available to succor us when tempted.
Whatever you are going through at this time is well understood by the Christ as He went through worse things. He is able to take the pain away if you will let Him. Christ died to take away the fear of death that those who had been afraid of death may live henceforth without fear. What is it that the tempter is throwing at you that appears like it will sink you? Jesus, has you covered.
SOLUTION: No matter the height of temptation you are confronted with, Christ can give you succor. Just cry unto Him in your distress and worship Him always.
Lord, your children are weighed down by the load of temptation the enemy is bringing their ways. We need your succor at this time. Please arise for our succor in the name of Jesus. Let no temptation that will overwhelm us come any of our ways in Jesus’ name.
