Focus: Acts 20:32 - KJV
32. And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
John 17:13-19
The Lord Jesus Christ commended to us the word of God which is the truth. He taught us to depart from the uncertain words of men and the philosophies by which we had been deceived up and down. Knowing that it is only through the knowledge of the truth by the word of God that we are made free from the deception in the world and the vagaries thereat. Bear in mind, although we are physically found among the world, we are not of the world. We are citizens of a different Kingdom. So, while the kingdom of the world is full of nefarious things, the Kingdom of God to which we belong is made of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. And to experience this, we need to be purified and sanctified (or set apart) in holiness. Such sanctification comes by the washing of water by the word. In the same manner that Jesus commended us to God, so did Paul for his converts. The lesson here is to ensure that as we are led to God, we get ourselves familiar with the word by studying and meditating on it regularly.
The fact that we attend services is good. But it is better if we are sanctified by the truth in the word of God. Fellowship is meaningless if the fruit of the Spirit is not evident in our lives. That fruit can only come if indeed we are born of the Spirit and we get sanctified by the truth which brings about the renewing of our minds and cause us to depart from the old ways. Please be sure to live as a member of the Kingdom and not of the world.
SOLUTION: For us to excel in this world, we must carry in us the word of God. It is our compass for navigation away from darkness through the marvelous light of God. Without the word, there can only be groping which is what the people of the world are experiencing by dwelling in darkness.
The Lord will draw you out of darkness by the power in His word today in the name of Jesus. He will not only draw you out, He will separate between you and darkness and its effects forever in Jesus’ name. The grace to dwell on the word of God tirelessly from now the Lord releases unto you in Jesus’ name. You will reap the benefits of the promises in the Word throughout your lifetime in Jesus’ name. Study the word of God.
