Living By The Christ (3)

Focus: 1 Peter 2:15-16 - KJV

15. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 16. As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

James 1:19-25

As sons of the Father, we must constantly remind ourselves the sons of who we are so that we do not behave or act like those who do not know their God who deceive themselves. But how do we differentiate between the sons and those who have no relationship with God? It is customary for those who are of the world to behave worldly. The bible looks at them as foolish because they are ignorant about Kingdom affairs. We are however not to be like them. Rather, we are expected to live our lives in a manner that portrays the Kingdom in a bright and acceptable way so that through our behaviors and character, we may put to silence those of the world who are portraying the idea of the Kingdom in a bad light. In the world today, there is so much negative talk about the Kingdom and the talks center around Kingdom operatives supposedly found wanting in character or calling. Indeed, even though when others do the same thing a Kingdom citizen is accused of doing, it is allowed to pass, but when a citizen of the Kingdom is suspected of any such behavior, there is a large outburst. It is akin to saying: “just look at them; they preach one thing and do another”. This is not something that should be spoken of concerning Kingdom citizens.

Beloved, when our actions do not depict Kingdom citizenship, we are just hypocrites and ought to bury our faces in the circumstance. We are called to be Christ Ambassadors and therefore we ought to live by Him. Doing otherwise is misrepresenting our Master. In the meantime, everyone on the field that properly represents the Master is handsomely rewarded here and hereafter. Don’t allow worldly attractions to sway you away from your Kingdom responsibilities. When we live outside of Christ, we are not different from the world and therefore make ourselves vulnerable and susceptible to darkness.

SOLUTION: Christ alone is the answer. Nothing else glorifies. A life in and by Christ is what can make us finish strong and well. Make a covenant with your eyes not to ever be attracted to lust through it. Be humble in all your dealings.

Father, we look up to you this day. Please help us to live by Christ alone and nothing else in Jesus’ name. Whatever we have been doing hypocritically, please take away from us by your power, in Jesus’ name. Keep us safe and upright in you as Christ’s Ambassadors, never to err in the name of Jesus Christ. Let our lives portray Christ in all ways in Jesus’ name. And in the end, let our rewards be pleasant in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
