15. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Ephesians 5:18-20
There is no gain repeating the fact that God is good all the time. When the sons of man run into issues in life, they are not necessarily brought about by God. There was a woman bent over in the days of Christ. When He wanted to heal her on a sabbath day and was challenged by the hypocrites, all He said was whether it be right to lose the daughter of Abraham that was tied by Satan. Invariably, God had no hand in her condition, but Satan. Ironically, because man is blind to the activities of Satan in his life, vis a vis all that the Lord is doing to save him, he tends more to use his mouth to speak ill of, and unto God. Meanwhile, God, for His wonderful works, deserves to be praised always and without ceasing.
Israel was to go through the wilderness to cross Jordan into the promised land that flowed with milk and honey for only a couple of days. When they refused to use their lips for praises as a sacrifice unto God, but would rather use it to murmur and complain always, they suffered the effect of their lips by having to go through the same wilderness for forty years. The one who was God then is still God today. He wants us to confess positive things in praises unto His kind and loving name. As life and death lie in the power of the tongue, the Lord is enjoining us to choose life by speaking praises unto Him, as He has no pleasure in murmurers.
Whatever it is that the enemy is bringing our ways, it is no basis for turning our backs on our God, who delivers us. Rather, we should praise Him some more, so that He may come through for our deliverance. If we refuse to praise Him, we are the ones who will forfeit the support of the one who loves us and is able to save us from the tyranny of the enemy. Hence, we are better off sticking with Him, no matter what. For really great effect, we are to offer sacrifices of praise with our lips every time, unto our God. He deserves everything we can offer to say thank you to Him. Please praise Him extraordinarily today.
SOLUTION: Gratitude opens doors of favor. If that be true with men, how much more our God. Endeavor to create time to offer sacrifices of praise unto God always from this day on and see what God is able to do more.
Please pray thus: Father, I cannot thank you enough for your goodness and wonderful works in my life. I covenant to praise you from now more often than before; please help me to fulfil my vows, by your Spirit, in Jesus’ name. Let the beauty of your holiness rest upon my life, by reason of my sacrifices of praise from now on, in Jesus’ name.
