Rejoice!

Focus: Philippians 4:4 - KJV

4. Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Philippians 4:4-7

There is no situation under the heavens that surpasses the power of God, for with God, all things are possible. Sarai had believed that the promises which her husband spoke, concerning child bearing, was no longer doable at her age, but in the end, she brought forth Isaac. Rachael, like her grandmother-in-law, Sarah, gave her made to her husband to give her children as she thought her case was bad, but eventually, she had Joseph and later Benjamin. The reason we are quick to judge God unfaithful and act outside the promise is basically anxiety which is borne out of lack of faith. Only those who do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. They are the ones that continue to believe God, and trust Him for His promises.

Let us consider Abraham who is called the father of faith. God had told him he would be father of nations before giving him Isaac. Then, he was told to sacrifice the same Isaac. Rather than lose his joy, Abraham believed God for His promise and asserted that even if God took Isaac as a sacrifice, He would restore Isaac to him again. This should be the mind of the believer. Job had lost all he had but when the Lord returned to him, he had double of everything he lost. Losing joy in the face of trouble is to faint and to show a lack of strength as a believer. Even when the enemy comes rushing like a flood, we are to be strong and of a good courage, by not jumping to do things God does not approve, but to keep our moderation known to all men.

Beloved, the times are hard indeed, but God remains faithful. Let not what you are passing through, or things happening around you, steal your joy. Rather, rejoice always, and put the devil to shame. What he seeks is to cause you to deny God. No one does so and end up receiving the promise. The Lord is true and that is why He is the Great I AM. Please take sorrow away from your heart and make your heart merry at all times. Thereby, you make the devil mad and powerless over your affairs.

SOLUTION: We ought always to pray and not to faint. That is how we commune with our Redeemer. Hence, let your request be known to God through prayers and supplications, not murmurings and complaints. Let your mind be at peace, for God will see you through.

Father, you commanded the storm at the sea in those days to be still and it obeyed you. Today, every storm raging in the life of every user of this Guide, we command them by your power, to be still in the name of Jesus. Whatever it is that is causing heads to be bowed at this time, we command them removed completely in Jesus’ name. Since the joy of the Lord is our strength, let your joy be restored into every heart today, and let our joy be full in you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
