John 10:10 - KJV
10. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Luke 9:51-56
Not every prayer or prophecy made in the name of Jesus is directed at God. Indeed, some don’t even bother to pray in the name of Jesus anymore, having believed that they are more than sufficient to supplant themselves or their names for that of the Christ in prayer. Truth is, most of their prayers are directed at Satan, albeit unknowingly. Every time a prayer is said that a person be killed or die, the prayer is not unto God but to Satan. This is because it is not the joy of God that any should die or perish. That is why Christ said He came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. He even said in His word that death is the last enemy that will be destroyed, thereby describing the spirit of death as an enemy. It behoves therefore that the Lord cannot put His enemy to use in destroying His own children. It is the devil who lies to deceive so as to steal, kill and destroy. Killing is the ministry of the devil. Hence, every time we raise a prayer point targeting a neighbor as an enemy and praying that the same should die, what we do is invoke the spirit of darkness to kill such a person. When by accident of faith, the devil succeeds in killing the same person, we rejoice and misrepresent God as the killer. God is not happy about this. The ministry He commends to us is that of reconciliation and not destruction. Many in the congregation have been lost to this kind of activity through the prayers of the shepherd or supposed men of God. The devil wants to present God as a “wicked” one and therefore makes effort that such requests manifest. Meanwhile, it is one crooked way of destroying the sheep put in the care of such shepherd or “men of God”, unwittingly.
Are you also of the opinion that someone is your enemy and the same must die? Please come off it as your mindset and eventual prayer in that regard are aimed at Satan. Yes! The one you are wishing dead may be one of those through whom God is preparing to help you fulfill destiny. If, while Jesus was preaching and Saul of Tarsus as a lawyer cross-examined Him regarding the position of Moses vis-à-vis His position, Christ had asked fire to consume him, he would not have ended as Apostle Paul witnessing in Christ’s name. Please stop joining them to pray to Satan. It is ungodly to wish anyone dead.
SOLUTION: Let your prayers dovetail in love only. Follow the lead of Christ that you may end up like Him in glory. When you cause Satan to kill anyone at all, you are at best a hireling or, like Christ described them, “thief and a robber”. Pray for the conversion of your supposed enemies so that you may all become brethren in Christ instead.
Our father and our God we are sorry for all prayers we had directed at Satan in times past believing we were praying to you. As it happened in the days of our ignorance, please forgive us in Jesus’ name. From now on, help us to appreciate every man you have created as worthy souls in your hands that must not be lost to darkness in Jesus’ name. Please Lord, because the hearts of kings are in your hands, if there be any whom the devil has taken over to torment us and thereby grieving us, do melt their hearts and move them away from their evil plans against us in Jesus’ name.
