Isaiah 42:5-9
Jesus is the true vine and every disciple of His is the branch. No branch is able to produce fruit without the vine. Hence, the vine makes it clear that the glory of the branch’s fruitfulness is His and not the branch’s. In the body of Christ, none of us comes before the Apostle Peter in that he was the one Christ left the Church with, or rather, the Church foundation was laid upon his testimony. This same Peter, even though he had the testimony of being told things before they happened, refused to stand in the place of the vine, but made it abundantly clear that he was also a man, even though he was submissive as a vessel(branch) in the (hands of the) vine. Hence, when Ananias saw him and treated him as if he was a god of sort, he quickly reprimanded him and told him the right thing to do. For those who know it, God is a jealous God and indeed, His name is Jealous. He does not like to share His glory with any mere mortal, or graven image. There is nothing we do or we are, that He didn’t make us. For without Him, we can do nothing.
There is the story of a preacher who “did” signs and wonders. One of the ways he did his wonders was to order the Holy Ghost around in the midst of a congregation. Any time he asked the Holy Ghost to move in a particular section of the gathering, there was a seeming commotion and breaking of chairs. On this fateful day, he did not know that the Holy Ghost had been separated from him for always puffing as if he was more than ordinary. So, the devil decided to mess him up. When he pointed in a direction before him, commotion happened behind him. Every time he pointed in one direction, something happened in the opposite end. At a point, he said “I said move here” pointing, and the whole place was quiet without anything happening and our dear preacher began to sweat. Even if the Lord has decided to take us over as His vessel, we must always acknowledge Him in all things and not ascribe things to ourselves unduly. Peter knew he was a mere man; do we?
Whatever the Lord must do to make us conform to His will, He shall do for us today in Jesus’ name. In all the ways that we had ascribed and accepted the worship of God to ourselves, the Lord will by His mercies forgive us and give us more grace for performance in Him, in Jesus’ name. Every negativity stemming out of our past misdeeds are terminated in the name of Jesus Christ. The power to resist the luring of the devil to bring up the pride of life in us, we receive now, in Jesus’ name. Every loss attributable to sharing the glory of God in the past, we recover fully, in Jesus’ name.
SOLUTION: Be resolute and firm to return all glory to God for all His deeds through you. There are men who are sent to pull you down by worshipping you instead of God: never accept their worship. It was with the same mouth they shouted Hosannah one day, and the following day, crucify Him. Do not let them push you into the pit.
Please pray: Father, every plan of the enemy to pitch me against you by making men misdirect your worship to me, please cancel and nullify, in Jesus’ name. The grace to resist men worshippers from worshipping me, please bestow on me today, in Jesus’ name.
If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
