Focus: Matthew 16:17 - KJV
17. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 16:13-20
It is a privilege for anyone to know the Christ identifiably. Even He Himself said no one comes unto Him except drawn by the Father. It goes without saying that those who encountered and related with Him did not do so by accident. Rather, it was by divine arrangement. Even though many people stood right by Him, they yet did not appreciate His personality but that He was the Carpenter, son of Joseph. Beyond that, those who identified Him by the power He possessed did so by equating Him with dead individuals. Meanwhile, Christ lives forever. The opening of Peter’s eyes and mind to recognize the person of Christ was a divine arrangement that is uncommon. He was not the only one present but he was bold enough to so identify the Lord not minding what the other Jews might do to Him.
Today, Jesus is by every one of us, seeking to know if we are able to identify Him. Identifying Him is orchestrated by the Holy Spirit. While He walked the face of the earth, Saul of Tarsus as one of the lawyers then, met and challenged Him about His teaching but could not identify Him as Christ. It was only when he was knocked down on his way to Damascus that he realized the person of Christ. When Peter identified Him, He affirmed his blessedness. For the Holy Spirit to reveal things to anyone, the same must be quite blessed. The blessedness of Saul of Tarsus began when he became physically bind for his inner eyes to function well. That brought about his regeneration. It is on the blessed revelation of Peter that the Church of Christ is built, and no devil can upturn that.
We are to identify the Christ in all our doings in life. No one can claim to be part of the Church unless and until he identifies Christ. Therein lies our blessedness. Those who are truly blessed of heaven can identify the Christ. It is by the identification that we get to be His friend. Becoming His friends make us a part of His Church and by it, no gate of hell is permitted to tamper with or hurt us. This knowledge and identification is not about lipservice or joining the multitude without knowing Him personally. The effect of the blessedness of the saints is so indescribable. It is best experienced. Imagine what turned Saul from a killer to a man completely taken over as a soul winner? Think about it.
SOLUTION: There is no pleasing God unless we know Him. We cannot even walk with Him without first identifying Him. A crowd thronged Him but only one woman with the issue of blood got a miracle because she was the only one who identified Him as the Christ among the whole lot. If you also identify Him, you are blessed.
Please pray:
· Give thanks to God for revealing Himself to you by the help of the Holy Spirit
· Ask God to please keep your inner eyes open so as to decipher the Lord when He is near you
· Pray that the Lord and His identity will never be hidden from you ever again
· Tell God to feel the whole earth with His manifest presence for all eyes to see and acknowledge Him
· Your daily bread will be great to ask here
