The evil doer is doomed

Memorize: 1 Peter 3:12

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

Read: Deut. 9:1-4

Our God is a God of righteousness. He detests evil and abhors it. Therefore, He says righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to many. To be righteous is to be in right standing with God. This presupposes clear-cut holiness and obedience to the commands of God.

Those who are considered righteous enjoy the goodness of God in that He listens to their prayers and comes to their aid in times of trouble. There was a man in the days of scripture called Elijah. In his generation, evil was prevalent but he decided to be on the side of God. He had a contest with known prophets even though he was just a mere Tishbite. But because God counted his stand to be righteousness, he asked God to answer to his call by bringing fire down from heaven and He did. Meanwhile, the known prophets had prayed for all day without anything happening. For righteousness, God listened and hearkened to Elijah’s request. No one anointed Elijah a prophet; but when his prayers were answered as against that of known prophets, the title fitted and hinged on to him ever since then.

Amid the wickedness upon the earth, you can decide to be different. To dishonor God and discountenance His commands is wickedness. Like what happened to the prophets on the mountain Carmel in Elijah’s time, every wicked person – whether openly defined or secretly practiced – is doomed. The way out of doom is repentance from the wicked ways and an embrace of righteousness. It is not a case for argument: you know where you belong. If you are righteous you are the one that reaps the benefit thereof; and if otherwise, you bear the brunt. What the Lord is saying to you is to flee from your wicked ways so that you may not be doomed. May God rescue us from every doom meant for the wicked in Jesus name.

Pray:

Father, you that counted faith as righteousness for father Abraham, do please count me righteous by the righteousness of Christ Jesus from today and save me from the wrath that awaits the wicked in Jesus name.
