Focus: Proverbs 21:31 - KJV
31. The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
2 Samuel 18:6-9
Many are times that we make plans and put strategies together to attack a project or embark on a journey. Most of these times, as reasonable people, we assemble the best implements for the execution of our plans, project or journey forgetting that except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it. We will discover that it is not the things we put together that ensures success and accomplishment but the approval of God. The boy Absalom had made himself king over Israel to the chagrin of his living father-king. Indeed, he assailed his father with the powerful and well-equipped Israeli army of the time whereas all king David had was a few loyal men. Rather than ride a horse, Absalom rode a strong mule to battle. The mule did not say no to being ridden to battle but at a point, safety was no longer in place as the woods were killing the Israeli soldiers who were in pursuit of David’s men. So, as the woods fought on, it caught Absalom on the neck and the mule under him escaped while he floated in the air with his neck caught up in the woods. That was how he met his waterloo and the mule he relied on had moved on.
That plan/project/journey can be very successful if we will commit it unto the Lord who has safety in his control. Wars are executed between two countries: one great and the other considered a fry. By the calculation of men, the fry would be a simple walk over for the great country but alas, the battle has lingered for much longer than envisaged before the great one realized what befell them. Don’t forget the story of David and Goliath. The former was inexperienced in warfare while the latter was a champion, well-equipped and had an armor bearer. At the end of the day, it was the Champion that lost his head in battle while the inexperienced walked tall. The difference was the safety of the Lord.
SOLUTION: Be sure to commit your ways unto the Lord always; wait for His leading and direction. Whatever He commands you to do, please do. Anything to the contrary is devoid of safety.
The Lord God Jehovah will give you safety in all battles and endeavors of your life in Jesus’ name. The name of the Lord which is a strong tower will accord you safety for the rest of your life in Jesus’ name. Whatsoever you put together to use as implements for your pursuit, the Lord will approve for your victory in Jesus’ name. Victory is yours.
