The Lord Searches The Heart

Focus: Jeremiah 17:10 - KJV

10. I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

1 Samuel 16:4-7

There was a time when the Lord was looking for a man in the form of a shepherd for the people of Israel whom He referred to as His first born. He searched through the whole of Israel and the search was narrowed down to the house of Jesse. In that house were warriors, people with titles in the army of the king who can properly be referred to as the king’s lieutenants. Even when the prophet, who at the time was the intermediary between God and the people, visited their home, he almost made the wrong choice on behalf of God. Thank God for the grace to hear God correctly. But at last, God found David, a man after His own heart. Imagine God searching all through Israel and not finding a man after His own heart and not even in David’s family, people brought up by the same parents, except David?

It is one thing to present one’s self as a General and before God be a rookie just because of the state of the heart. There are many that people look upon and ascribe titles to who do not ordinarily qualify for the same, but, carry on as if right, because of wrong perceptions, as there is no art for finding the heart’s construction on the face. But God sees and tries the hearts of men to give unto each person according to the state of his heart. Many are saints on the streets but bloody murderers at heart. That does not mean they wield guns or matchets; however, in their hearts, all they think is how their innocent neighbor, whom they have wrongly adjudged guilty, would die. God knows these things and will not touch them with the longest stick, for it is only those with clean hands and pure hearts that would ascend the hill of the Lord.

Friends, let no one be deceived; God cannot be mocked. Long before an action is consummated, it is first processed in the heart. While it is being so brewed, the Lord sees. If therefore, we allow our hearts to dwell on filth, how do we expect the Lord to adjudge us worthy? No wonder Paul enjoins us to think only on things that are pure, holy, good, righteous, loveworthy etc. It is only when we do, that we can ascend the hill of the righteous judge. Therefore, let us forsake every clandestine and evil thoughts that draw us to sin from time to time and be like David who dwelled more on praises and prayers in love, whereupon, God found his heart pure and preferred him to his king and every member of his father’s house, including the father, himself.

SOLUTION: Be holy that bears the vessels of the Lord. As God is holy, He wants us to be holy as we cannot walk together unless we be in agreement with Him, through holiness.

Please pray: Holy and righteous father, I love you and covenant to continue to love you forever. Please help me to remain pure and holy in heart for the rest of my life in Jesus’ name. For this reason, anytime the enemy comes rushing into my heart with evil thoughts like a flood, please let your Spirit raise a standard against him for my sake, that my heart may ever remain pure and worthy in Jesus’ name.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
