Focus: Luke 13:24-25 - KJV
24. Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Matthew 7:21-23
A day is coming, and is quite close, when it will be too late to repent, at which time the Master would have come. Then, He assures us that those who are met on the wrong lane, will be permanent captives for the devil, and the advocate will not be able to intercede on their behalf. It is akin to finding a person driving on a wrong road and caught by a traffic warden. As the evidence will be overwhelming of his wrong doing, he is not able to escape the punishment prescribed by the law, at that time. But, if a driver enters a wrong lane, inadvertently, and finds someone to tell him and he quickly turns around before the traffic warden comes to him, then will he be free from the consequence of an offence. Even if the warden accosts him subsequently, as the accuser of the brethren is wont to do, his Advocate will not deny, but defend him then, as he was never caught in the act and it will be difficult to tie him to the offence, assuming there are no cameras, that is.
The same is true about that day when the Lord shall come. Everyone who fails to focus on the strait gate, being the narrow one that leads to righteousness and life, but found on the wide gate which is the way of the wicked and leads to perdition, shall be denied of the Master, as He is not given to waywardness. Every offender shall have his regrets on that day, no matter his antecedent in righteousness. The one who is coming is the Sun of Righteousness. Darkness will disappear at His appearing. It is therefore, imperative that we at this time, place all our focus on the Light, which is only approachable through the strait gate.
Sitting on the fence is a dangerous posture at this time. All the signs abound indicating the imminent appearance of the Master. It is no offence to assume there is no Master anywhere. It will however be a sorry case to realize, albeit too late, that He exists and He means all He has said. At this critical time in man’s existence where things that appear like natural disasters are taking a chunk of human existence out, we need to put our hearts to wisdom: what if He comes now and shuts the door as promised? What have we to lose if we follow the narrow path to the strait gate? Whose business is it if we decide to do so and not keep living in sin which destroys wellbeing, anyway?
SOLUTION: Why not chose to live in righteousness from now on to ensure you will not be denied when the Master truly comes? If already on the narrow way, determine not to go out of it; and if on the wide one, quickly make a U-turn before the Master arrives. Tomorrow may just be too late.
Pray thus: Father, the way is dark here on earth and we need your light to keep our focus: please light up our paths to make us remain on the narrow way, never to fall off the way in Jesus’ name. Make us recognizable of yourself when you shall come dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.
