The mind of Christ
Text: 1 Corinthians 2:16
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:13-16
To understand the things of the Kingdom of God one must have the Holy Spirit. He is the one that understands the deep things of God. I perceive that the eunuch of Ethiopia in the days of the Acts of the Apostles was a man well read. But while he read scriptures, he lacked the understanding of what he read. That simply is because the letter kills but it is the spirit of the Word that gives life. But when the Lord promised that the Comforter would come, He did clarify that the world knows Him (the Holy Spirit) not and neither could they receive Him. Hence, unless a person has the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of Christ in him, he cannot have understanding of the mind of Christ while reading the words of the scripture. This is why many today, though they find the scripture, they give to it philosophical or fleshly interpretation as against the mind of God who inspired the writing thereof. You cannot understand the mind of God in the text of the Holy Book unless you are born again, thereby leaving the world behind; and unless you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is by doing so that you receive the mind of Christ and you start to find spiritual meaning to the word of God. There is no affinity between the Holy Spirit and the world. The Holy Spirit is the gift of God to the children of God by Christ Jesus. Unless you properly belong to that company you cannot receive the mind of Christ and will continue to ascribe wrong meanings to the Word. There is always a picture behind every scripture. Explore it through the help of the Holy Spirit and your life will never remain the same.
Blessed father I surrender my life unto you, please baptize me with your Holy Spirit that I may discern the wonders in your word from now on in Jesus name.
