Focus: 2 Corinthians 2:14-15 – KJV 14. Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. 15. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
1 Corinthians 1:18-25
Everywhere God finds a good sacrifice, He smells sweet savor and is happy. For instance, when Noah gave him a sacrifice of protein, He smelt a good savor. When Christ gave Himself for the ransom of man, He smelt a good savor and gave Christ a name above every other name. Now, whenever a sinner repents, there is joy in heaven because the effect of a living sacrificial offering has shown in heaven. Nonetheless, if, despite all the sacrificial offering of the living sacrifice, some refuse to be admitted into the kingdom, even over them, the Lord smells the sweet savor of the sacrifice and holds the refusal against them and not the sacrifice. In a clearer language, everyone that is born of God in the order of Christ, is a living sacrifice. Like Christ laid His life down as sacrifice, so are we by using all our endeavors to bring the knowledge of our God unto every man. Those who yield bring joy in heaven and thereby, sweet savor unto our God. The refusal of those who refuse is at their own risk and do not debar the aroma of the sacrifice of the soul winner from reaching God.
The Lord created each of us for His own pleasure. That great pleasure is first ensured through the manner of sacrifice we offer to Him. Every Christian, is expected to be a living sacrifice having laid down our lives on the altar of God by giving it to Christ. What we do on that altar is to ensure that we live our lives for the reconciliation of others unto God. There are many whose lives push people away from the kingdom: they neither preach the truth of God’s word, unto the lost to draw them back to Christ, nor do they bring forth fruit mete for repentance. When they preach, or do anything whatsoever in the body, they do it because they desire a gift, unlike the injunction of the Master, which Paul followed to the letter, by knowing how to abase and how to abound. We are to desire only fruit that may abound to the account of the convert, just like we make ours to abound in our account with the Lord.
By the power in the word of God, may your being a living sacrifice start to produce sweet smelling savor regularly, in the presence of God, in the name of Jesus. The Lord will make you effective in bringing Him pleasure from now on and better than ever, in Jesus’ name. The grace to have fruit that will abound and also minister to your needs willfully, without having to ask because of a need, the Lord will bestow on you, in Jesus’ name. Every power militating against your bringing good aroma to God by your sacrifice, the Lord rebukes them for your sake, in Jesus’ name. You shall end this year and many more gloriously in Jesus’ name.
SOLUTION: Live a life of sacrifice like Christ, to give God pleasure always. Let there be no regret in heaven over your being made an offspring of God. Be deliberate about bringing people to God and godliness.
