Key verse: Isaiah 44:3
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
Read: John 7:37-39
A person that does not believe in Jesus and the finished work on the cross misses such a great opportunity to be special. For those who believe are endowed with a transformational power that projects them to becoming sons of God. That power is received from the Holy Spirit whom the world (the unbeliever) cannot know. And when the Spirit comes upon the believer, He deposits in him a thing of Himself called blessing. This blessing is indescribable but operates like a magnet that attracts good and pleasant things that make life pleasurable, to him. No wonder there are believers whose lives only attract beauty but repels darkness and all its attributes. Not that they don’t encounter trials and temptations, but the same Spirit helps them to navigate through it.
Whenever a Believer is taken through trials, he is being schooled to appreciate obedience. He may feel the absence of pleasure at the time but then he constantly feels his spirit watered in that he lacks not instruction from the throne of Grace. Others may view him as having lost the Spirit of Blessing but it may just be his schooling season when he must learn to be abased in the things of life. It is however possible for the believer to lose the deposit if whilst going on, he grieved the Holy Spirit, embraced darkness or finds no good use for the deposit. The water in him is not only meant to quench his personal thirst but that of others also. If, however, he deploys the same to sink others rather than keep them afloat, then has he used the gift of the Holy Spirit wrongfully because drowning one’s neighbor is never the purpose of God.
Beloved, the Lord has poured His water upon your ground. What are you doing with it: supplying drink to the thirsty like He has done to you, or making it a river to erode the blessing of others? It is important you check your activities today. Don’t do what will make the water released to you to dry up. When you release it to the blessing of others, then will the Lord increase yours the more.
Pray: Father, I thank you for your blessing upon my life. Please help me to be a blessing to many others all through my life in Jesus name.
