Focus: Jeremiah 10:6-7 - KJV
6. Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might. 7. Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
Isaiah 46:1-7
Who is like unto our God? The reason He is God is because besides Him there is none other as glorious, Mighty, Powerful, eternal, Omnipotent, Omniscient or Omnipresent. Every other being has a limit. He has none. He is the beginning and yet the ending; He is the first and at the same time the last. He is the all in all. If there be any other that can surpass this description, then the same will be reckoned as God instead of Him. But there is none. He is the one that sets up everything visible and invisible and therefore capable of pulling any such away or revamp the same, where necessary. Wisdom is of God. Therefore, there is none that is wise that does not have a trace of his wisdom to God. This is why we must live our lives in awe of Him. Surely, He can kill and make alive. Indeed, He gave us our being. A young man once encountered Him. And this awesome God was asking the young man for permission for Him (God) to use the young man for His purpose. The response was interesting. “Lord, if I do not yield myself to your use and I die, what will be the essence of my being?” It baffles the wise why anyone will refuse to fear God and obey His commands. He does not only possess the ability to say enough of living to a life here on earth, He can also condemn the same to eternity in the lake of fire which is called the second death, reserved for the children of disobedience.
The Most-High is presenting Himself to us today that we may acknowledge, love and fear Him. Fear Him in the sense of never taking Him for granted but treating Him with love by obeying His commands. Pause to take a thought, beloved: to whom do we owe our lives and beings? If it be to God, what have we to lose if we live our lives to honor Him and hold Him in awe? When God comes through to us like this, it is to issue us a warning like He did Peter and Judas. Yielding the warning and the prayer of Christ saved Peter; adamance and deep-rooted lust destroyed Judas. Let’s yield to God today and ditch the devil and his works of wickedness.
SOLUTION: Since there is only one God, chose to serve, love and obey Him alone, always.
Father, we know you are the only God and we owe our being to you. Help us from today that we may never shift our focus from you again in Jesus’ name. Whenever the enemy seeks to sift us like wheat, rushing towards us like a flood, please raise a standard against him by your Spirit, for our sakes in the name of Jesus Christ. Let us never end up like Judas o Lord, please pray for us by yourself in Jesus’ name.
