Walk uprightly

Key verse: Psalms 84:11

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Esther 6:1-10

To walk uprightly is to walk in love and do things pleasing unto God. It is possible for men who only presume based on outward appearance to think you are not righteous; the Judge of all who sees the intents of the heart knows best and He will judge aright. When He judges you to be upright, He withholds nothing good from you thenceforth. Unfortunately, there are not many upright people in the world. Hence, it appears God is not releasing good things as He normally would. When it appears a person is wealthy, he has health issues; when he appears healthy, he lacks peace and so on. Meanwhile, when God blesses the upright, no sorrow is added to it. It’s an all-round blessing kind of.

Mordecai was an upright man. He got to know of a plot to depose his king at the time. He could have joined the coupists to make their plot stronger and strike a bargain to get a chunk of the kingdom. But lo, that was not Mordecai’s way. He was faithful to his king, exposing the illicit plot and retaining the king on the throne. Like any man can also forget, for a while the king did not do anything to reward the man who saved him in uprightness. But somehow, the king became troubled and honored the upright without holding back on necessary things to decorate the upright. That was merely an earthly king honoring the upright with all without fail, how much more the Almighty God. Like the King in the book of Esther, God will honor everyone that walks uprightly before Him and would not forget to do so like the king forgot. When Abram was walking haphazardly before God by being half obedient, he suffered delay in getting hold of the beefy part of his covenant with God. But the Most High came through to caution him to walk before the Almighty and be perfect and as he amended his ways, lines started to fall unto him pleasantly.

You can also start to enjoy every beautiful provision of heaven on earth if you will acknowledge the beauty of God by walking uprightly before Him and be perfect, just like he asked Abraham to do. God owns more than the things you crave for. He can bless you beyond your thoughts. Give it a thought! He will surprise you like He did Mordecai.

Pray: Father, thank you for rescuing me from the fangs of sin and waywardness. Help me to continue uprightly in you to the end in the name of Jesus Christ.
