What The Kingdom Of God Is

Focus: Romans 14:17-18 - KJV

17. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.

1 Corinthians 6:9-14

The Lord Jesus Christ came to earth to introduce us to the Kingdom of God. Prior to His coming, many things were approved or disapproved all in the name of godliness without them being truly representative of the kingdom. For instance, there were meats and drinks that were dubbed common or unclean and therefore inedible. However, when God presented such to Peter to kill and eat, He had to correct the notion that held hitherto, by telling him whatever the Lord has cleansed is not unclean. On the other hand, some count meat and drink as evidence of being godly. To this end, they eat all they find to the extent of getting gluttonous even though they are identified with God. They also do not have limit when they drink. All of these would perish and be destroyed. However, the Lord has revealed to us that the Kingdom is characterized by righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, so that those who serve God in these are accepted of Him.

The Lord is drawing us to hide in the righteousness of Christ that we may be like Him. When we carry the righteousness of Christ, we will experience peace like a river such that we are never bothered by the storm in the world; and no matter what happens in the surroundings, our joy is never taken away. The good example here is that of Daniel and his three Hebrew friends. They stuck with righteousness as they refused to move against their God. The threat of the king and his lieutenants never disrupted the peace of any one of them and, even though they were being led to their supposed death chambers, they never lost their joy to stoop to the wishes of the world. If only we also will be so dedicated, then are we God’s showpiece, of His Kingdom on earth.

SOLUTION: Being conscious of what the Kingdom represents is a means to fulfilling it. Let righteousness be your watchword, so that peace and joy may be yours forever.

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God for showing us the way by sending us Christ to die for us that we may not be barred from the Kingdom

·      Ask God to make you an epitome of Christ’s righteousness all through your life

·      Tell God to make you live in peace that your joy may be full

·      Ask for the leading of the Holy Spirit in all that you do so that you may operate always in righteousness and by extension never lose your peace or joy

·      Ask God to make this a remarkable day for good in your life

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
