Focus: Job 23:11-12 – KJV: My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. 12. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
There are times in the life of a believer when trials and temptations are rife and there is no pointer to any sinful fault of the believer. Although there is nothing under the heavens that affects a person outside the knowledge of God, nonetheless, not every torment is attributable to sin. When life happens in the negative, the place of the believer is to stand firm in God who has promised never to leave or forsake us. In truth, what the enemy seeks is that we may deny the Lord. It is only those who endure to the end that have the victory.
Job was a staunch believer in his God such that he was so particular about holiness so as never to offend God. Even when he identified no sin in himself, he still went ahead to offer sacrifices for sin, per adventure any member of his household sinned while he was not paying attention. Yet, the devil mesmerized him so much that he became a pitiable sight and his friends felt he must have sinned for such a fate to befall him. The beauty of his story is that despite all odds, he refused to turn his back on his God and in the end, he was restored doubly for every loss he suffered.
Is the enemy shaking you or trying to make a mess of your faith or your holiness today, putting forward a picture of a defeated soul to the world? Are your friends mocking you for remaining stubbornly holy despite all manner of affliction? The Lord is asking you to stand still and see His salvation. Your rescue is on the way. There is a ray of light beaming into that darkness, now. Please do not give up. Rest on the Lord. He is faithful.
Prayer:
I thank you Lord for I know you will never tempt me with evil. I know that the present state of things is just a distraction from the camp of the enemy. By the power in your Word, I lay hold on redemption today and declare my freedom from very oppression and evil clampdown. I will never deny you. I have my victory today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Please share. God bless you.
