An Unshakable Foundation

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 12:28
"Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear." (KJV)
In a world that feels increasingly unstable—where economies shift, health fluctuates, and news headlines change by the hour—it is easy to feel "shaken." However, the author of Hebrews reminds us that as believers, we belong to a Kingdom that cannot be moved.
Everything around us that is temporary can be rattled, but God’s reign, His promises, and His love for you are permanent. This isn't just a future hope; it is a current reality. We are receiving this kingdom right now. Because our foundation is secure, our inner peace doesn't have to depend on our outer circumstances.
The response to this security isn't passivity; it’s gratitude and worship. The verse calls us to "have grace"—to lay hold of the divine favor God provides—so that we can serve Him "acceptably." When we realize how solid our ground is in Christ, our service moves from a place of duty to a place of deep reverence and awe. Paul and Silas were released from their chains, but the jailer wanted to kill himself. They belonged to the unshakeable foundation but not the jailor. Rather than see him as an enemy who should be left to his suicidal ways, they stopped him and offered him what they had. They did it for the one who saved them also.
When you feel anxious today, ask yourself: "Am I leaning on something that can be moved, or on the Unshakable Kingdom?" In your prayers today, spend less time asking for "things" and more time acknowledging God’s holiness and power. Let your heart be stilled by His greatness. Look for one small way to serve someone else today, not to "earn" points with God, but as a thank-you note for the secure Kingdom He has given you.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You that even when the world feels like it is falling apart, Your Kingdom stands firm. Thank You for giving me a place in that Kingdom through Jesus Christ. Grant me the grace today to serve You with a heart full of praise and a spirit of holy reverence. Keep my eyes fixed on what is eternal. Amen.
Please share. God bless you.
