Anger: Watch Out!

ree

Focus: Ephesians 4:26-27 - KJV

26. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27. Neither give place to the devil.

Psalms 37:8-11

Anger is a booby trap of the devil to entangle the believer in darkness. A person who is angry is neither humble nor meek. A proud person is resisted of God and that is what anger brings. Hence, anyone that allows himself to be angry opens the door unto evil and separates himself from the Lord. The Bible points to the fact that it is possible to be infuriated by the actions of some people but we need to be careful not to allow the infuriation to become so hurtful and turn into anger. At the point of infuriation, it should be fully and successfully managed so that it does not become full blown anger which tantamount to pride and therefore evil.

Anger is a terrible vice. There was a man of God named Elisha: he had double the spirit of his master Elijah who called fire down from heaven at will. He had access to God and received from Him information he wanted to know at will. But a day came when the kings of Judah and Israel appeared before him to enquire something of the Lord. The man of God got infuriated upon sighting the king of Israel. Unfortunately, he did not stop but allowed the situation to becoming aggravated into the state of anger and he showed it in his words. For him to access God, he needed the ministration of a minstrel. He forgot that he was an ordinary man made extraordinary by God. He thought too much of himself in that instance and got separated from God momentarily for as long as the anger lasted.

The Lord is saying to us today that we should beware of the devil’s trap in anger. It is a subtle instrument towards separation from God. Why is anyone angry, anyway? It is that he feels larger than what he is as compared with the object of his anger. Meanwhile, only God is the all in all. Once we are not God, we are not permitted to be angry against anyone no matter the standing or status. Anger is a canker aimed as reducing the believer to a pedestrian level, in darkness. Stare clear of anger.

Please pray:

Thank you, father for always having and not resisting me. I pray today that you please separate between me and the seed of anger throughout my life, in the name of Jesus. The grace to always resist the devil so that I do not become his prey, do release upon me, in Jesus’ name. Help me so that I am never infuriated to the point of becoming angry or sleeping on an anger issues till the next day, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
