Focus: Matthew 11:28 - KJV
28. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
John 7: 37-39
From the fall of Adam, mankind has been ladened with onerous burdens when he surrendered dominion to the devil. Rather than being in control of the affairs on earth, the enemy placed man under abrupt labor which makes life difficult for him instead of the intended life of heaven on earth that the Lord had purposed for him. However, there is hope for man to be restored to the point of heaven on earth if he will turn his focus from the evil ways brought upon him by the deception of the enemy and come to Jesus who can and will give him rest from the labor and burdens laid on him by the devil.
The devil kept the impotent folks at the pool of Bethesda under great labor and heavy burden waiting for a once in a year encounter to be healed on a piecemeal basis. When Jesus got to the scene and spoke, the only one who was ready for His rest yielded to Him and got rest while the others remained in their labor and burdens. One evening at Simon’s house, after healing the mother-in-law of fever, many who were labored and heavily burdened came to Jesus and they got their rest as He healed them all. When He met the mad man of Gadara, the fact that the fellow came to Him with all His labor and burden, accorded him rest that day. Our God is the best Father any can desire. His rest is golden and sweet. Despite all our filthiness, He calls us to come to His rest, if we will yield to Him.
The reason anyone is still in labor and heavily burdened is because he refuses to come to Jesus who has given him a free and blanket invitation for rest. No amount of gymnastics or physical assertion brings rest; it is only an obedience to the call and yielding to the invitation of Jesus that makes it happen. The Lord is therefore reminding us today that the invitation remains open until He returns for the saints. Hence, if there be any at all, devoid of religion, race or creed, if we will move to Jesus and cast our burdens on Him, He will give us deserved rest. We do that by accepting Him as our Lord and living our lives going forward according to His leading by the Holy Spirit. Take the bold step today. Are you a father and want to be like the good father, bring all your children to Christ that they may receive His rest today so that your joy may be multiplied. Happy Father’s Day!!!Hi HH
Please pray:
Father, I acknowledge you are my burden bearer and thank you for the rest I have of you. In any way that I am burdened by the devil or experiencing labor from the world, I run back to you today, please take my burden and give me your sweet rest, in Jesus’ name. Help me never to go out of your rest in search of things that do not glorify ever again, in Jesus’ name. Make this day the beginning of my deserved rest in you by your mercy, in Jesus' name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
