Be Commended Unto The Word

Focus: Acts 20:32 - KJV

32. And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Acts 26:12-18

The word of God is God and there is no separating between God and His word. Wherever the word of God is found, He is there to back it up fully without denying Himself. He does not lie; the confirmation of that is found in His word which is forever settled in heaven. For any believer to be partaker of the inheritance of the saints in Christ Jesus, the same has to be duly sanctified by the word which is to align him with God and godliness so as not to be a stranger in the kingdom. However, there are words and there is the Word. Whilst the former emanates from lying lips, the latter is authentically God Himself.

Christ was condemned to the cross because He was said to be blasphemous. To be so adjudged, there must have been a comparison between His words and that of another or others. The others were held sacrosanct while He was adjudged wrong. It was those others that Saul of Tarsus premised his actions upon until he came to the realization that he was the blasphemous one, antagonizing the Word, who is God and not Jesus Christ whom he persecuted. He was not alone as he got the backing of the chief priest and council of the Jews, which suggests that it is possible for the majority or multitude of religious folks to be wrong about God and work against His interest. Once Saul had his realization, he became focused on the truth which is the Word, who is God Himself.

Traditions and followings from so many ions ago have put so much distortion in the hearts of men regarding the Word of God and His person. Many are not keen on swiftly moving to the side of the truth even when it glares them in the face. Yet, the Lord is beckoning on us all to shift from the lie we have always believed and built upon; and focus on the Word. Hence, He is asking that we be commended unto the Word again and dwell therein rather than stay on the ill winds of the doctrines of the fathers which we believed and assumed was the word of God. Let us study and begin to meditate on God’s word more than ever, leaning on the Holy Spirit for deep insight, from now on, for a sure inheritance.

Father, I thank you for your faithfulness in backing up your word even above your name. Many are far from you in that they do not recognize your word. The grace to have deep insight into your person through your word, please release on me anew, in Jesus’ name. Let the power in your word translate me into a wonder to my generation, in Jesus’ name. By the power in the word that raised Christ from the dead, let every good thing that is dead in me find life and expression today because of your word, in Jesus’ name. Put an end to blasphemy that is treating your truth as the blasphemy, in Jesus’ name.
