Be Spirit Filled

Focus: Genesis 41:38 - KJV

38. And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

Daniel 5:11-14

It is the Spirit of God that gives life in abundance. He, it was that brought forth Christ as the only begotten of the Father and enabled Him to go about doing good. When the self-same Spirit inhabits any man, He gives the same power to do good also. That power makes the bearer a special being amongst all beings and he is so acknowledged. Those who do not have the Spirit in them are mere, ordinary people and do ordinary things; while those who are filled with the Spirit are made extraordinary doing exemplary and extraordinary things that put people in awe. Like the wind blows and no one knows where it goes or come from, so is the Spirit-filled. Simply put: a wonder.

Daniel was a man born in the way many or all of us were born. But he carried in Him for his generation, the Spirit of the living God who gave him insight to things that were unknown to others. Elijah was also a similar man: in his own case he spoke to seal off the heavens from bringing forth rain and it was so for three and a half years. By the same Spirit that filled him, he outran the chariots of a reigning king. David carried the same Spirit in himself and was able to turn a giant to a dog by slaying him with the use of a swing which was a menial weapon. He also played music to ward off the demon of madness. The Apostles of Christ got filled of the Spirit at Pentecost and the men that had been hiding came boldly to the public to witness Christ and effected magnificent change.

The Lord is inviting every believer to true life and power by encouraging us to get filled of the Holy Spirit. A time was when believers boasted of being Holy Ghost carriers. This time, the Lord wants us not only to be Holy Ghost carriers by mouth but in power and manifest good works. It is important therefore that we take back the old time “religion” by doing far better in our faith than those who had gone before; and begin to manifest fruit of greater works than even Christ did. The cloud of witnesses is awaiting such manifestation for in it lie their joy and rejoicing, when they see the devils bow unto us as we take charge of the earth fully.

Father, we thank you for your Spirit of love that is available for every believer. We come humbly to you today for the in-filling of your Spirit. Let the wind blow and every user of this devotional be filled with your powerful Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ. By this, let there be a spectacular turnaround for better in our lives, in Jesus’ name. Let there be remarkable and extraordinary performances happening through us by your Spirit, in Jesus’ name. And let all eyes see and proclaim your wonders in us, in Jesus’ name.
