10. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 46:1-11
The difference between us and our God is that He is supernatural and the Almighty with whom all things are possible. Those things that scare man and make him quiver per time are rather easy ride for our God. Most of the time, those things that scare us as men, are just like the mirage that never materialize. Yet, many may have killed themselves in the fear of it for nothing. But everyone that carries God as believers are imbued with His Spirit such that when there appears to be turmoil, they have some inner peace that keeps them on, even when the wicked are affrighted.
A physically well-fortified Syrian army encamped around Elisha with a view to arresting him. The man of God could not be bothered since he knew they were not fortified enough to cause him to fear. But there was a servant with him who started crying wolf and was surprised his master was not troubled. In his mind, the end had come. Elisha was still and calm in the face of the provocation. To keep his servant calm also, he asked that God opened his eyes to see the army of the Lord that encamped round just the two of them to defend them. In the end, no hurt came to either of them as the assailing army was blindfolded and led into the midst of their enemies.
There is a user of this devotional whom the devil has brought under torment by making all things seem miserable and insurmountable. God is saying today, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. If you are able to resolve it by yourself with relative ease, you will not appreciate the horrendous power of our God and His ability to save His own. Whether the trouble we go through are current and subsisting or they are yet to come, the Lord is assuring us that if we still have Him on our side, there is no reason to fear. Be still.
Please pray:
Thank you, Lord for the victories you have achieved for me in numerous battles in which I needed not to lift a finger. Let your army encamp around me always for safety even as I continue to dwell in you, in Jesus’ name. Every army of wickedness sent to arrest or hurt me, please blindfold and scatter them today, in the name of Jesus Christ. Terminate the fear of the enemy’s torment over my life today as I refuse to lift a finger any further, in Jesus’ name. Let this day mark my total freedom from the enemy’s irritation, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
