Focus: Romans 15:1 - KJV
1. We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Genesis 14:8-16
One of the ways by which we love one another as commanded of God is to bear the infirmities of the weak. It is not only in alms giving that we do this but also in laying down our lives for our friends, in a manner of speaking. Lot, Abram’s nephew was not the best of lads towards his uncle. Out of the lust to outsmart his uncle he parted ways to a land that appeared lofty but in no time he became a captive in war in the land he so much wanted. Many in the position of Abram would say in the circumstance that it served Lot right, but not Abram. He put his life and that of his lieutenants on line to pursue the captors of Lot with a view to rescuing him. Lot was weak in the matter, yet Abram bore his infirmities that he may find his feet again. If only in the body of Christ today, we can emulate this great virtue, we will have less casualties and greater victory in depopulating the kingdom of darkness. Imagine a thriving ministry in the heart of town having so much money to throw around and not making any more impact in its locality other than periodic programs in a saturated environment channeling part of its resources towards equipping other ministries in the rural and less affluent places for greater impact? Rather than do that, some are in the habit of creating projects and inflating the cost to divert the mark up into their own pockets. By so doing, they put the lives of the weak in greater jeopardy even though they know it not. It is possible to raise a defense of getting involved in some charity. It is not enough. Every money stashed away when others are facing hell in ministry are done in denial of Christ.
Are you weak or in any way burdened with some load that you are unable to lift off yourself? Please prayerfully reach out to well-meaning people of God and God will touch their hearts to bear your infirmity. If any is not able to bear at a point in time, please do not demonize them as you cannot tell what they also may be passing through. As you are rescued from infirmities, create occasion and opportunity to rescue others too. In brotherly love, we shall all thrive.
SOLUTION: Take a meditation on what you have and what you need to do to aid the work of God in the lives of others particularly those in the heat of persecution. Send help to them no matter how little you think it is. It is the solution someone is crying to God for.
I pray with you today that as you start to bear the infirmities of the weak, the Lord will help bear all yours too in Jesus name. You will never be left helpless or comfortless in any situation again in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is all a cycle. Please do your part and God will do His part.
