17. But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
1 Peter 5:6-10
It is not an uncommon phenomenon for a believer to suffer some pressure from the hands of the enemy, who is always on the prowl to prevent the believer from finding comfort in the Lord. Hence, from time to time, he may suffer a bit of pain, otherwise, he is not effective against the kingdom of darkness. But, when the heat is turned on against the believer, he is to be confident that such pain is temporary as the Lord who is his help and deliverer is bound to come through for him, sooner than later. Indeed, when the Lord comes through for the believer, he has the last laugh. However, the one who bothers when challenges come, wastes energy for nothing and calls God a liar.
John the Baptist was said to be Christ’s cousin. He had the grace of revelation and knew the Christ because He was revealed to him. However, when pressure of imprisonment came upon John, he became worrisome and indirectly denied the Lordship of Christ. Had he sent to Christ to make a request for his deliverance from his incarceration, the Lord may have made a decree that would have set him free from his predicament. But because he was too preoccupied with care over nothing, he decided his own faith by feeling offended of Christ. By his action, the Lord took His hands off his matter and the king who was even afraid to arrest him was not so scared to get him beheaded.
Beloved, if we must take benefit of our God, we must know that He is and a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. When we over blow the problems we are confronted with above the abilities of our God, we call Him a liar and displease Him in the particular instant. The Lord is asking that we put our trust in Him by casting all our cares upon Him. When we do bother and fret over things that we have no control over, we only succeed in hurting ourselves the more rather than get the burden off. God is asking us to trust Him more and see His magnificent ability to help and deliver us from all the cares and burdens we are confronted with.
Let us pray:
The Lord will not allow the enemy to overwhelm you with too many cares that can cause you to dip, in the name of Jesus. All the cares that appear to be troubling you right now are submitted to God and shall be wiped out today by the reason of the power in the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name. Every power assigned against you with a view to bringing you down is pulled down for your sake, in Jesus’ name. Receive the power to triumph and prevail over all those situations and circumstances from now on, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
