Christ’s Ambassadors

Focus: John 20:21 - KJV

21. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

John 13:20

An ambassador is an accredited person or diplomat sent by a country or authority as its official representative to a foreign country or authority. Jesus Christ was sent from heaven as Ambassador to the earth and His credential was to save mankind from the terror and dominion of the devil. Upon presenting His “letter of credence” to mankind, who ordinarily was accorded dominion over the earth by God, He completed His assignment when He took over the reins of the earth. But His assignment is a continuing one in that the mission on earth must not be allowed to fail or fall back in the hands of the defeated foe. Hence, to continue from where He stopped, Christ issued to every believer a letter of credence as His Ambassadors (an extension of the ambassadorial credence of heaven). The believer, like Christ is expected to continue the good work of keeping the reins of the earth away from the enemy and casting him out wherever he is found.

Incidentally, as Ambassador of heaven, in the time Christ was upon the earth, a majority refused to receive Him and therefore forfeited the opportunity for naturalization as citizens of heaven. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become sons of God, which automatically translates to citizenship of heaven. Now, as He has appointed believers to continue the ambassadorial role with a spread, He has transferred the power to confer citizenship on the appointed Ambassadors to wit, as many as receives them receive the original Ambassador, Jesus Christ, and as many as receive Him receive power to become sons of God and heavenly citizens. This is the appointment and credence of the believer. Whether or not we are performing the role of Ambassador like Christ did, or like He would love us to, is another thing.

Heaven is asking today how well we are representing the kingdom as Ambassadors: are we resisting and sacking the devil and his activities wherever we find it on earth, or are we just condoning him and allowing darkness to thrive on earth? How so much are we causing men to receive the kingdom by first receiving us? This is the concern of God for us today. The Lord will appreciate that we take our ambassadorial roles seriously and do what He has sent us to do. The peace we need to do what He has appointed us for, He already gave to us. When we do His bidding by making more citizens for heaven and eroding darkness from the earth, He has promised us crowns and eternal life when He welcomes us to the heavenly home (the Home Office). To abdicate duty is to bury the talents He has given us to trade with; and He has said He would not be kind to those who do so as He would refuse to grant them recognition.

SOLUTION: Take up the gauntlet from today to cast out devils, heal the sick, deliver the oppress and preach the Good News of the kingdom so as to start issuing citizenship to many others. Never again should you condone evil but resist it steadfastly and banish it from your presence always.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for granting me the heavenly citizenship and enrolling me as an Ambassador for Christ. Please release unto me greater fire power with which to function against the kingdom of darkness on earth, in Jesus’ name. Do grant me the boldness to repel evil in all its appearing wherever I find it on earth in Jesus’ name. Let the words of my mouth always carry potency, to draw the hearts of men to your Kingdom upon every ministration, in Jesus’ name. As I release myself to work as your Ambassador, when it is time to return home, please do not let me forfeit my citizenship, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name
