Christ’s Enemies

Writer: Jide OlaoreJide Olaore

Focus: Hebrews 10:12-13 - KJV

12. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13. From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

1 Corinthians 15:25-28

It is never the mind of God to make any man His enemy. He is a loving father, which is why He went to the extent of giving up Christ to reconcile us to Himself through His death. Hence, when the Bible speaks about making the enemies of Christ His footstool, it references the devil and his angels; and elsewhere it speaks about death being the last enemy that will be destroyed. Unfortunately, added to the list are those who refuse to obey God and be pleasing to Him. They will be treated like the fallen angels who are with the devil. That is why it is said that hell was prepared for the devil and his angels. But those who are separated to the left side for being unfaithful or wicked will be sent there too.

The thing that confuses many who refuse to pay attention by the help of the Holy Spirit to the details of scripture is that they interpret one sacrifice for sin forever to mean that after accepting Christ man can no longer sin. It is true that there is no sin in Him for anyone who is in Him to sin. And that is why He demands that those in Him should either be hot or cold else he spits them out. The cold has no place in Him and the lukewarm nauseates Him. Those He spits out have no place in Him because they are deemed to have returned to their vomit, which is sin. Everyone outside of Him is said to be a dog. These things are plain for the discerning minds to take in and heed the Lord’s leading.

God is simply telling us this beautiful day to hold on to our salvation and treat it as it is, a huge treasure. Christ did not die that we may join the league of the enemies that must become His footstool. Rather, He died that we may be seated with Him in heavenly places far above all principalities and powers and rulers of darkness of this world. So, as they become His footstool, they become ours also. That is a more glorious position to occupy rather than the lowly place of the enemy.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for the grace to be seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. Please help me never to fall into enmity with Christ ever, in Jesus’ name. Let my reign with you be forever manifested so that I will remain far above the enemies indeed, in Jesus’ name. Let my positioning in Christ translate into my reigning over principalities and powers even from this present day, dear Lord, starting from the realm of the earth, right now Lord, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
