Endeavor To View The Full Context

Focus: Romans 8:28 - KJV

28. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Genesis 50: 19-20

Whenever God determines to do something in the life of a person, He sees the ending and the performance of the same from the beginning. Even all the hurdles the person need to cross to get to the desired end are known unto Him. However, He sometimes will not make the hurdles known to the person and allow him to figure it out as he goes on. For instance, when He told Abram to leave his father’s house and his kindred to go to a land he never heard about before, He did not tell him that he would encounter an Abimelech that would be enticed to Sarah; neither did He inform him of the need to sojourn for a while in Egypt for famine’s sake. God however, expects the believer, like Abram to trust Him to get him to the end He had promised. Hence, no matter what the believer encounters in the journey of life and faith, it is a part of the complete package that takes him to his rest. When he views only the little context of the times of hardship and suffering to conclude that the Lord has left him, he will be making a grave mistake.

The life of Joseph is a great insight into the text of saying all things work together for the good of them that love God who are called according to His purpose. Joseph, of the twelve sons of Israel, was called of God to bring succor in famine to his kindred and the known world at the time. Incidentally, God showed him the glory that was ahead of him but did not tell him the turmoil he would go through to get to that glory. Somehow, by the circumstances of his birth, his father showered much more love on him than his siblings. That brought him to a position of being envied by his brothers. Then, he revealed the dream of God’s purpose, the entire context of which he did not know, and he got into greater trouble with the siblings. He suffered deportation and sale into slavery. He refused to soil his princely robe in the land of slavery; and to break him, the devil got him confined in prison. All of these were not palatable to the one whom God had called according to his purpose. And, because he appeared to have known the one who had promised, he waited to the end for the actualization, without calling God a fool.

Today, the Lord is reaching out to us to let us know that we are yet to see the full context of the glory He has prepared for us. The momentary break and hurting consequences of people’s actions and inactions, are only a small part of the whole picture, which shall not last long. If only we are made to see the larger picture which is the full context, then shall we gladly endure the hardship of the moment to enter into the bliss of God, in the larger context. Are you in a position today that appears demeaning and hurting to you particularly when you did nothing to deserve it? God is saying to you to hold on because He knew it would happen even whilst He prepared the script for your being glorified; and you will surely be glorified in the end. Joseph understood in the end that everything that happened was not so evil after all, but a means to an end to achieving God’s purpose. Like Joseph, you will soon realize also that what you thought was done to debase you, is only a means to promoting you.

SOLUTION: Please do not despair, no matter what the enemy is taking you through. God is working out the fulfilment of His promises for your life. For as long as you remain faithful to God, you cannot be derailed. Hold the forth! The Lord is coming for your sake.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for making me to know that the trials of this present moment are merely temporal. Please help me to stand firm in you to the very end, in Jesus’ name. That throne of glory, the promises of shining that you had said concerning me, please show forth to bring it to performance without further delay. You that took Joseph from the prison to the palace, manifest yourself in my affairs today, and put an end to my pain, in Jesus’ name. Open my eyes now that I may realize the full context of my current situation and be encouraged thereby, to the glory of your name, in Jesus’ name.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name
