Freely Build For God

Writer: Jide OlaoreJide Olaore

Focus: Isaiah 45:13 - KJV

13. I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.

Isaiah 45:9-13

The essence of creating man is to step up to fulfil the things that God needs him to. Often times however, the man tends to seek to fulfil his own heart desires as against God’s will. Imagine a clay saying to the Potter, why form me so? And again, the man puts himself out as who he is not and expects God to bless the person he is not. At some other times, what men do is to seek immediate payment or recompense from God for what He had freely ordained them to do and do freely so as to build the city of the Lord, the foundation of which is not built by human hands but by faith. That of itself is a travesty.

Adam was made to rule and be in dominion. He allowed himself to be brought under him who he was to dominate and thereby became naked. He assumed he could solve the problem of nakedness by pretending to be clothed and therefore, sowed fig leaves so as to be able to appear to the One who sees, as the real being. But God saw he was no longer the domineering king He created and it became difficult to bless the caricature. Cain became offended in God for not blessing the caricature; yet, God is never compelled to bless who we pretend to be when He sees our hearts and therefore knows our beings.

The Lord wants us to understand the purpose for which we are raised: we are to build the city of the Lord through righteousness, free every captive from the kingdom of darkness without necessarily expecting a wage or recompense. What we find today are believers who refuse to lift a finger for God unless and except there is something to gain or point to as recompense. This, the Lord wants us to refrain from, for freely are we given and freely we are directed to give.

Please pray:

Thank you, father for the way you molded me for your glory. Please help me not to query you on the way you have made me and most importantly, not to recreate myself away from that which you recognize, in Jesus’ name. Do please bless me and keep me blessed in you to do your will to the end. Make me a Kingdom builder in you through righteousness, in Jesus’ name. In the end, let your name be glorified in my life, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
