God Is Never Wrong

Focus: Psalms 119:75 - KJV

75. I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.

Psalms 33:4-5

Very many people heap blames on the Lord whenever something negative happens to them. They more often than not claim God is not faithful to them and thereby forsake God and His worship. Meanwhile, God is righteous in all His judgment. When a person be afflicted, it is that the same had moved away from the covering of the Lord and got exposed to the strike of the enemy.  And, because God is love, He prevents the enemy, at times from afflicting the person beyond that which he could bear. Yet, rather than thank God for making sure the affliction is minimal, he puts the entire blame on Him, who was never responsible for the shortcoming.

David went into adultery with Bathsheba and got caught by God. His affairs had exposed him to real danger in the hands of the enemy. But because of the love of God, the Lord did not allow the enemy to destroy him. Nonetheless, the product of the adulterous relationship had to die despite all of David’s plea in fasting, and the sword was held against his family from then. He was also told that what he did in secret to another’s wife would be done to his own in the full glare of the public. Yes, he was afflicted, but David knew and admitted that he brought it upon himself.

God wants us to first look inwards whenever we encounter afflictions before looking to blame God who is never to be blamed. He needs us to know that when we abide in His presence, no devil is able to afflict us successfully for such devil will need to first go through Him. To this effect, God wants us to rest assured that nothing evil can hit us while we remain faithful to Him. If, however, we are going through any form of affliction, we ought, like David to admit our fault, retrace our steps and follow the line of the Lord going forward. Then we will be so secured and kept harmless.
