God Knows Your Troubles

Focus

"I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities."Psalm 31:7 (KJV)

Life often brings seasons where we feel completely unseen. We look at our bank accounts, our broken relationships, or our failing health and wonder if God knows the depth of our pain. David wrote this Psalm while fleeing for his life, yet he chose to anchor his mind in a profound truth: God does not look past our pain. The focus verse reveals two comforting realities about God’s posture toward us in hard times: the word "considered" means to look closely, inspect, and give deep thought to. God is not glancing at our problems from a distance. He is examining every detail of our trial with compassion; He does not just know about our situation; He intimately knows our soul inside of it. He understands the anxiety, the sleepless nights, and the silent tears that we cannot even explain to our closest friends.

Joseph had a dream of becoming a ruler someday. He could never have imagined that the journey to the throne would first take him to the pit and then into being sold as merchandise by his own brothers, and from there inti bond servitude, and then the prison. In all of these the Lord was aware and was working out his throne for him. Job woke up into some devastation one fateful day. He never could have contemplated all that he had to go through but the Lord knew and eventually took care of him, beautifully.

Because God has this deep, intimate knowledge of our situation, our response can change from despair to hope. We don't have to wait for the storm to clear before we can smile. We can be glad and rejoice right now, purely because we are wrapped in His mercy. He sees us, He knows, and He cares. Sit quietly today and tell God exactly where it hurts. Don't mask your feelings. He already knows your soul in adversity, so speak to Him with complete honesty. Take five minutes today to stop staring at the size of your trouble and start praising God for the size of His mercy.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you that I am never hidden from your sight. Thank you for looking closely at my struggles and understanding the weight on my soul today. Forgive me for the times I doubted your presence. I choose to rejoice in your unfailing mercy right now, even before my circumstances change, trusting that you hold me fast, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Please share. God bless you.
