God Leads Aright

Focus: Proverbs 8:20-21 - KJV

20. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: 21. That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

Proverbs 8:14-21

There is no stumbling or falling when we follow the leading of our God. As a good father, the Lord will never direct us into hurt or destruction. It is our refusal to follow the way of God that exposes us to danger. When we obey Him, it is absolutely for our own benefit. For instance, when He says thou shall not steal, it is not because there is anything we can take from Him that He cannot recover. But when we do steal, the tendency is for the devil, in the set up to expose us to dare consequences. Those who fornicate and commit adultery expose themselves to the danger of heinous diseases and early death too.

When the Amorites did not know of the injunction of God not to steal so that their ways may be prosperous, they made the mistake of stealing from David, the anointed of God. In the end, David pursued, overtook and recovered all they stole from him in Ziklag, of course, not before he killed them all. God knew that Peter was better off a fisher of men and so informed him to follow Christ to achieve it. In Peter’s folly, he returned to the river for fishes and found himself back in failure. When he returned to fishing for souls for Christ, not only did he thrive in it, but his name is written in gold for generations to see.

There is nothing God wants to do with our failures. Hence, He counsels us in the right way that we may excel in our doings to the glory of His name. Even when the instruction sounds absurd, that is when God is mainly glorified. Had Abraham queried the instruction to proceed to a land that was vague to his understanding, he would have forfeited the eternal blessings that followed. God is saying to us today that we need to be fools for Christ’s sake and just obey everything He asks us to do. If the people in Cana had failed to fill the pots with water, would they have had the best wine? Act in total obedience today.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for always finding the love to instruct me and giving me directions from time to time. Let me never be deaf to your voice O God, in Jesus’ name. As I hear and get your instruction, please help me never to deviate from it dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Continue to lead me in righteousness so that I may never fall into the trap of the enemy, in Jesus’ name. By your instruction, take me to the height that you have prepared for me, in Jesus’ name. Please let this day be the beginning of my turnaround for better, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
