God’s Faithfulness And Mercy

Focus: Psalms 89:24 - KJV

24. But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

Psalm 89:19-28

Our God is faithful and is full of mercy. Wherever He finds faith and righteousness, He extends His faithfulness and His mercy for He will be merciful to whom He wills. His mercies endure forever but they are His prerogative to extend. Nonetheless, He is dependable to the extent that when He makes a promise to anyone, He puts His weight behind the same and ensures that He performs that which He has promised since He does not lie and will never be seen as a liar. His faithfulness is therefore, released to His promisee who is seen to have attained a sustainable level of righteousness while His mercy is released to cover the other parts that appear a bit shadowy. All of these bring the recipient to a great position in life with joy and good tidings, always.

David was a man considered somewhat righteous in his days. The Lord gave him promises that his misbehavior with Bathsheba would have eroded. But because God is faithful, He would not allow His words to David to fall on the ground. Hence, He put to performance His mercy for the man and ensured that His promises came to bear even to the extent that when the Lord came to the world in the flesh, His reference point as the Messiah is that He is the son of David. God’s faithfulness made Him to fulfil His promise to Joseph. Even when the enemy clamped him in jail to forestall the fulfilment, the Lord invoked His mercy that got Joseph out of the prison without much ado.

The Lord is set to bring His faith and mercy to bear in the life of somebody today. The candidate is someone who has been to a large extent righteous in the things of God but the enemy has been making the world to want to ask the said person where his/her God is. The Lord is saying He would dumbfound the world for the sake of this person and his/her testimony would shake the earth. If we must also be partakers of this blessing, the Lord is saying it is not too late to switch to the righteous side. All that is required is to turn around to the Lord with a sincere heart and make up our minds not to return to filth. The righteous God has promised to receive us if we do.
