God’s Word Is Life

Focus: Proverbs 4:21-22 - KJV

21. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Proverbs 4:20-23

The eyes and the heart of a man are pivotal to the life of man. The eyes enlighten the body whilst the heart is the engine that keeps the entire being working and well. Hence, the Lord enjoins that the good book, which we can only appreciate with our eyes, should not depart from our mouth. As we read with the eyes, we cause the mouth to recite for the heart to cling unto what we have read. So, it is the eyes that locate the word of God and transmits it to the heart through the hearing. Once the heart finds it to keep, the tendency is for the man to always dwell on the word and live by it. It goes without saying that since the Lord’s word gives direction to life, he who finds it lives by it.

Many people die out of frustration and information from the medics that they bear some ailment that is terminal. Prior to their being told, they may continue to live with minor pain with the said condition. But the moment they receive the sad news, they start to retrogress and lose health faster. Hezekiah was ill and bedridden. He wanted to be whole but did not know how. Then the word came from the prophet, Isaiah, that he would die. He became so devastated but sought the word from God that would revive him. When the prophet told him he had extra fifteen years, he had no need of medication or therapy to get off the sick bay. Only the saying: “thy faith had made thee whole” restored the woman with the issue of blood from twelve years of decay.

The Lord is commending to us the power in His word and asking that we seek and store up His word in our hearts that we may live by it for recovery from sickness, for health and good life. Of course, when health is battered, life starts to evaporate. But with the word, a deteriorated health can be arrested and restored with a resultant reverberated life. Seek the word today and live. Not just any word, but the word of God. There are many who go about pretending to have the word. All they do is content creation and motivational speaking with philosophical words. That is not of God. Seek that which is of God, keep it in your heart and life is yours.

Please pray:

Thank you, father for your word that heals and gives life. Let your word be open to me at all times and be always at my disposal to teach and use for the redemption of many from their unhealthy positions, in Jesus’ name. Please let my heart be the clear receptacle of your word as a fertile soil to grow in, in Jesus’ name. By your word, let my health be restored, replenished and enhanced, in the name of Jesus. Give me life and life in abundance by the reason of your word, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
