Grace For Ultimate Salvation

ree

Focus: 1 Peter 5:10 - KJV

10. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

1 Peter 1:3-9

The believer’s journey is not of a bed full of roses. As it is said that “you must be born again,” the one so born is a child upon his birth and does not instantly begin to run. He needs to be fed and taught many things before he begins to crawl, walk, run and eventually fly and soar. Through all of that, there are pitfalls, challenges and sufferings. But, like the good father that He is, our God does not leave him comfortless: He assigns to him the Holy Spirit to teach him in all his ways so that he may someday come to the stature of the fullness of Christ. Then is he ready to meet the father and settled in God’s eternal glory. Many, while going through the training curves, fall off from the faith as they are not able to withstand the rigors of discipleship. Meanwhile, God releases unto each, grace sufficient to see us through.

Saul of Tarsus became Paul. He learnt to suckle milk in the hands of Ananias, he stayed with the other disciples to learn the curves for a season before teaming up with Barnabas for the missions. Through all of that, he suffered uncanny suspicion, rejection and so on. When he would have thought he was cruising along in ministry, the torment of the Jews was harsh on him that some even came to a bond not to eat until they got him killed. At a point he had sore in his body that did not heal despite prayer, but all he got from God was “my grace is sufficient for you.”

The Lord wants us to know that he never promised the believer that there will not be suffering, opposition and challenges; but that only those who will endure to the end shall be saved. It is pain that warrants endurance. When the believer is fully formed, he carries in him the power to deal with his torments. But, until he is so formed, he falls into the category of those the scriptures say perish for lack of knowledge. The mind of God for us today is that we learn of Him that we may be formed to be like Him, the Commander of the Hosts of heaven. When we are so formed, we can deal with situations and circumstances as sons of God, whom everything that is awaits the manifestation of.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for the way you have brought me up thus far. Help me to remain obedient under the tutelage of your Spirit till I be fully formed as your son, in Jesus’ name. Grant me sufficient grace to surmount the sufferings hauled my way in my formation as your son, in Jesus’ name. Let no power of hell derail me from entering into your eternal glory as you have purposed for me, in Jesus’ name. Please keep me in you forever and take all the glory over my life, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
