Grace, Restoration And Reinstatement

Focus: Luke 15:22 KJV: But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

When a repentant sinner returns home, God the Father does not put them on probation or treat them like a slave. Instead, He instantly covers their past shame with the best robe (righteousness), gives them a ring (authority and family identity), and provides them shoes (freedom and protection).

The High-Priest, Joshua stood before the Angel of the Lord dressed in filthy rags, with Satan standing right next to him, loudly accusing him of his sins and unworthiness. Instead of condemning him, God rebuked Satan and commanded His servants to strip off Joshua's filthy clothes, declaring, "I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee". God commanded them to clothe Joshua in brand-new change of raiment and place a fair mitre (crown/turban) on his head, completely restoring his holy authority. Joseph’s robe of many colors was stripped by his brothers, even though he was not reported to have sinned but loud-mouthed. He went into slavery in Egypt with clothes that became filthy. In the end, he got a royal robe, the king’s signet and shoes from Pharaoh the king of Egypt.

God's grace completely overwrites our past. The enemy loves to remind us of our "filthy rags" to keep us trapped in guilt and shame. But when we run to the Father, He silences our accuser, strips away our failures, and completely dresses us in his favor, honor, and royal purpose. There is a user of this devotional whom the Lord will cause to be so decorated today. Run to the father through Christ Jesus.

Prayer:

Thank you, father for writing off my past misdeeds and giving me grace for a new life in Jesus Christ. If there be any filthy garment left on me, please take it away today and cloth me with your garment of glory, royalty, fame and wealth. Let me show forth your glory unto the heathen henceforth, in Jesus’ name.

Please share. God bless you.
