In What Do You Trust?

Focus Psalms 20:7 - KJV

7. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

1 Samuel 17:41-46

In the days of old, chariots were vehicles of war drawn by horses to battle. The army that had the same was considered great in battle and well-fortified. It compares with the sophisticated military hardware of our day. They that did not have the chariots and horses dared not brag with those that had, in battle. It is like an ordinary country going to brag with a super power that has nuclear arsenals. Yet, no matter the nuclear prowess or otherwise of any country or people, there is no power greater than the name of our Lord, which name is now so combined in the name of Jesus Christ, at the mention of which every knee should bow.

The Philistine army was super equipped to the extent that they manufactured the sword and other weapons, that every other nation, including Israel, used in battle. In essence, when David stepped forward to confront Goliath, the armor which Saul offered him could never have been superior to that of the Philistine champion, having been made by the Philistines. Thank God David did not put his reliance in any armor but the name of the Lord. The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is saved. When David took hold of the name, the armor and prowess of the Philistine champion failed him for the name not only defended David, it also aided him to prevail over the Philistine.

The Lord is inviting us into His armory today. For everyone that kits himself with the name of the Lord, he will never fail in battle again, going forward. Those who refuse the armor that the name of the Lord presents, are at the mercy of the enemy who parades seemingly sophisticated weaponry. And, without the defense offered by the name of the Lord, the soldier is no match for the devil who is so vast in experience and time. Let us therefore take the benefit of the name of the Lord at all times, in battle. Its cost is the blood that was shed and had paid in full for our faults and lackings. Hence, nothing bars us from putting the name to use, save perhaps, our holiness.

Please pray:

Thank you, Lord for the name that you have given us which is above every other name of things in all the realms. As we put the name to use against the kingdom of darkness waging war against our lives, let all knees bow for our seeks and make darkness disappear, in Jesus’ name. Even now, we call the name of the Lord to action and declare: Satan the Lord rebukes you regarding the lives of the users of this devotional, in the name of Jesus Christ. Bow your knees to the Most-High that His children may thrive henceforth, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
