Keep Hope Alive

ree

Focus: Psalms 71:14 - KJV

14. But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

Psalms 71:1-14

It is very true that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord saves him from them all. It is not uncommon for the wicked to put together an avalanche of opposition against the righteous wanting to present him as the evil one. They make lies in derision and hoodwink many into believing their tales against the righteous. Their aim is to snuff life out of him but the Lord helps him if he remains in hope on the Lord. Truly, hope deferred makes the heart sick, but it is they that endure to the end that will be saved. Our God is not slack concerning His promises, particularly as it pertains to the righteous.

David had so much to make his heart sick. First, he was thrown in the backside of the desert where lions and bears existed, by his own family; next, he saved the neck of his ruler only for him to order his assassination which culminated into his becoming a fugitive. As if that was not enough, even though he attained kingship, when he was somewhat advanced in age, his own son, in connivance with some of his lieutenants implemented a coup that made him an exile. Yet, he hoped in his God who is always able to succor the righteous and restore him fully after dumbfounding his enemy. David did not die until he handed over to his successor even while he occupied the throne. His hope was not futile.

The Lord is saying that although there is a cacophony of hate and fury from the camp of the enemy against you because of your righteousness, it will not last as the Lord will come through for you from today and you will be fully restored to that which the Lord had prepared for you. Let not your hope be deemed because of the torment of the enemy. Keep hope alive and see the salvation of the Lord which He brings to you shortly, as He devastates and humbles your enemy before you.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for thus far you have held me up and not allowed the enemy to take life out of my being. Please shield me continually from the attacks of the enemy that I may never be affected by it until you show forth to make the enemy my footstool in the name of Jesus Christ. Let not my hope be shattered before you come to my aid, rescue and restoration, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
