Obedience Begets Peace

Focus: Isaiah 48:18 - KJV

18. O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

Psalms 81:8-16

It is untold insult for any being talk less man, to disobey God. By obedience we curry the presence and help of God, and by disobedience, we tell Him to lay off our beings. And when we have Him, we have a dependable Ally that crushes the foe for us. If otherwise, His absence leaves access to the foe to mesmerize the victim. The foe is never relenting in seeking a loophole and that is why the Bible says he goes about as a roaring lion looking for whom he may devour. When we have with us the Lion of the tribe of Judah, no other lion can mess with us. But how do we know that we hearken to the Lord’s commandments? His earnest command is to love. When we do love in all directions: God, ourselves and our neighbors, we become pleasing and our enemies be at peace with us.

The life of king Uzziah is a typical example of having God and not having Him. At a tender age, he was made king and because his heart was right with God, he did marvelous things and was reckoned with great achievements. No sooner did pride enter into him and he decided to dishonor God that the Lord’s hands were removed from his affairs and the devil struck him with leprosy. He was unable to ever enter the temple of God again. Elisha learnt love and unlike Elijah, when the Syrian army sought to arrest him, rather than consume them with fire, he blinded their understanding, led them to a place where they could have been decimated, and then fed them and sent them back to their king. As a result of his love, Syria ceased from assailing Israel for long thereafter. He became loving and therefore pleasing unto God, and his enemies were made to be at peace with him.

There is no alternative to obeying God’s commandments. Like Moses laid it down, Christ affirms it. Unless we be pleasing to God, we cannot assume to have peace like a river whether as individuals or as a people. The mind of the enemy is to give us turmoil continually. The way to peace in obedience to the Lord’s commands. God is saying to us that outside His commandments is crass inferno that destroys and that peace away from it is in obedience just like Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego. Even if there be a vivid furnace, our obedience will make it ineffective against us. Unless the fourth person be there with us when the furnace is prepared, how do we intend to have peace and come out without being kindled by it?

In the name of the Lord Most High, from this day on, receive the grace of obedience to God’s commands in Jesus’ name. Whatever the devil has stolen from you out of disobedience to God, the Lord restores them to you fully from now, in Jesus’ name. Everything that the devil has done to negatively affect you due to disobedience, is cancelled and nullified for your sake now, in Jesus’ name. The Lord shall remain your Ally and stick with you to the end in Jesus’ name. The Lord shall assign peace like a river to you and make your righteousness like the wave of the sea, in Jesus’ name. A beautiful day you have in Jesus’ name.
